Fine Art Quilt Masters 2018


Katriina´s  work ”At Crossroads” is one of the 23 pieces juried into the international ”Fine Art Quilt Masters” (FAQM) exhibition of 2018. The yearly exhibition takes place in the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) of Birmingham, UK. All the works selected are nominated for the grand prize of the major international textile event with exclusive focus on various expressions of quilts and quilting (hobby / fine craft / modern art). Katriina was included  also  in the FAQM selection of 2017. Her previous contribution ”Looking for Balance” is seen on the start page of this document. 7th European Quilt Triennial 2018


”At Crossroads #2”, another piece from an ongoing series by Katriina, will be seen among those selected to the juried ”7th European Quilt Triennial” opening September 6, 2018. The event is organized by and opens at the Textile Museum Max Berk in Heidelberg, Germany. After a few months of showing in Germany the exhibition will be travelling.




Katriina´s work included in a one-of-a-kind museal collection


A collection of Katriina´s artwork has been acquired in the permanent collection of the museum of the International Quilt Study Centre/ IQSCM, an affiliate to the University of Lincoln-Nebraska, USA. The acquisition covers work from the early days of Katriina´s artist career to the recent years.


IQSCM is a leading establishment within the field. The centre was founded with support of a major donation in 1997. Its exclusive goal is to exhibit, present  and preserve both traditional and modern artistic expressions of quilting and quilt art world wide. The work maintained covers academic research programs.


IQSCM is located in a modern architect drawn building with generous exhibition facilities on the area of the ULN campus.
